The fifth generation of Gladstone to work within the family business, Bob joined STC as an apprentice in 1999, working through the quality, operations, sales, administration and engineering departments before beginning his tenure as Managing Director.

Bob’s overarching role is in steering business strategy to ensure that Silvery Tweed remains viable and profitable. He is also responsible for the purchasing of grain and developing supply chain links within the local agricultural sector, as well as for running the business’s farming activities.

Peter brings more than 25 years’ food industry knowledge to his role as at Silvery Tweed. With experience gained in the fresh produce and fish processing sectors before his move into cereals, his remit at Silvery Tweed involves overseeing the business’s manufacturing, procurement and engineering activity across its four sites.

Alan is a qualified accountant with many years’ experience working with private family owned businesses. He is responsible for all aspects of financial management and control for Silvery Tweed Cereals and its parent company, H. O Short & Son Ltd. Alan has been active in the food industry for over 20 years, with extensive experience in the fresh produce, agriculture and commodity foods sectors.
