From field to fairway- Silvery Tweed Cereals supports Goswick Junior Open
Berwick-upon-Tweed-based cereal processing company, Silvery Tweed Cereals, is pleased to announce its sponsorship of the 2026 and 2027 Goswick Junior Open.
The tournament, which takes place this year on the 31st July at Goswick Links, will see over 50 of the most talented junior golfers from Scotland and the north of England come together to compete over 18 holes for top spot.
Silvery Tweed Cereals managing director Bob Gladstone said, “We are always keen to support grassroots and junior sports as we feel that it is important for young people to have the opportunity to learn, compete, and, most importantly, have fun playing sports.
“The Goswick Junior Open is a fantastic event that attracts talented golfers and offers them a fun day of competition. When we heard that the event was looking for sponsorship, it was an easy decision to make.”
Goswick Junior Section Organiser Sandra McGonigle said, “We extend a huge thank you to Silvery Tweed for its sponsorship of the event. It is days like these that allow young people to experience competition and test themselves against others in a safe and fun environment. Without the support of local businesses, we couldn’t put them on.”
A leading supplier to the UK breakfast cereal, bread and bakery markets, Silvery Tweed employs more than 75 people, cleaning and processing grain from growers based mostly in the Borders area within a 40-mile radius of its Berwick-upon-Tweed base.
The company manufactures a variety of cereal products, ranging from the straightforward – flour, cereal flakes, grain and seed blends – to the unusual, with bespoke products such as puffed grains and granola clusters supplied to many of the UK’s top cereal and bakery brands.
