We have a long history of helping customers create their perfect granola or granola topping. We’re asked a lot about this popular product, and we’ve answered the most frequently asked questions here.
Q: Are any of your granolas available off the shelf?
A: They are. Our STC Plain Granola is available to order in 40x12.5kg paper sacks, and it’s popular with customers for a reason. It is tasty as it is, or it makes a great base for your own additions, such as nuts and dried fruits.
Q: Can you help us develop a bespoke granola?
A: Absolutely. Our experienced NPD team will work with you to develop a granola to match your brief. Our wide range of raw materials and versatile coating facility means we can help you create the perfect balance of flavour and textures. There is a minimum annual order volume of 8-12 tonnes, depending on the ingredients used in your bespoke recipe.
Q: What flavours of granola can you produce?
A: We can produce granola in LOTS of different flavours – and in different colours, too. The possibilities are almost endless. Products range from simple granolas with inclusions such as coconut, sunflower seeds or pumpkin seeds to more complex flavours, including savoury granolas. From the colour pop of a vibrant Raspberry Granola to a Honey & Rosemary flavour blend, our expert team will use their expertise to help bring your ideas to life.
Q - Can you retail pack? What pack sizes are available?
A: We are a business to business manufacturer, and our granolas are packed in bulk. Typically, pack weights are between 8 and 20kg, depending on the density of the granola. We can also pack into totes, if required. If you are looking for retail packed products, we work with co-packers who can help.
Q: Can you pack into top hats for yoghurt and breakfast pots?
A: We can produce a granola to fit your top hat and work with co-packers to pack them.
Q: Do your granolas contain allergens?
A: Our granolas typically contain oats and may also include gluten-containing cereals such as barley, spelt, rye or wheat, either by addition or as they are handled on the granola production line. We are a nut-free and dairy-free site, but we have alternatives we can use when developing your granola recipe. And, if you really want nuts or milk chocolate in your granola, they can always be added via a co-packer.
Q: Are your granolas suitable for vegans?
A: We can produce vegan granolas, but they are not certified.
Q: What is the sugar content in your granolas?
A: Sugar content will depend on individual recipes. We do use sugar-based syrups to bind granolas, but we also use alternatives. We can produce granolas using non-refined sugars and no added sugars if that’s what you are looking for. However, sugar-free granola isn’t an option due to the natural sugar content of some of the ingredients.
Q: What can your granolas be used for?
A: We make granolas that are ready to eat, as well as supplying base granolas for customers to add other ingredients. Our granolas can be used as toppings for yoghurts, or desserts such as crumbles. We can also make savoury granolas for trail mixes or for topping salads, savoury flans etc.
Q: Can you produce uniform granola clusters?
A: Our granola production process mimics the way you would make granola at home. The granolas are broken up randomly, which means the clusters can vary in size from single flakes to small clusters. We can make the granola more clustered or less clustered through the recipe and can limit the size of the clusters, but they will always be random shapes and sizes.
Q: What is the shelf-life of your granolas?
A: Shelf-life very much depends on individual recipes, ingredients, and the way customers use the finished product. Shelf-life ranges from 3 to 12 months for custom products, and our standard Plain Granola – used as supplied - has a nine-month shelf life.
Q: Do you make a high protein granola?
A: We don’t offer a high protein granola off the shelf, but we can work with you to create a bespoke product. Due to the limited allergens we handle on site, the protein can’t come from nuts, dairy or soya, so instead we boost protein content through additions such as seeds and pulses.
Q: Are your granolas Kosher?
A: All our granolas are Kosher suitable, and we can have them certified if required. Our STC Plain Granola, which is available off the shelf, is certified and is available to order in 40x12.5kg paper sacks.
Q: Are your granolas organic?
A: If you are looking for an organic granola, and your volume meets our minimum order requirements, our team can investigate this for you. We have access to a range of organic grains that we process ourselves on site. Please contact us if you have a specific project to discuss.
